Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim- Talmudical Academy of Baltimore is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Elementary School Assistant Menahel. The Assistant Menahel will support our mission of providing a high-quality chinuch and instill Ahavas HaTorah, Yiras Shamayim, and foster simchas hachaim in our talmidim in a warm and caring environment.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong commitment to Torah and chinuch hashkafos and will work collaboratively with the administration, rebbeim, teachers, and parents to ensure a positive and effective learning environment for all our talmidim. The Assistant Menahel will report to the Menahel and collaborate and support the Menahel with the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Oversight of Current School Programs and Events: Organize Rosh Chodesh/Yom Tov assemblies, oversee our successful Chemdas/Yedios Klalios program, plan and execute annual milestone events such as Haschalas Chumash, Mishnayos, Gemara, etc. in collaboration with rebbeim and office staff.
• Create and Facilitate New Kodesh Programs and Initiatives: Work with the menahel and rebbeim to create new programs that meet the needs of our students, enhance the atmosphere of the Yeshiva, and improve student academic success.
• Faculty Observation and Support: Observe rebbeim in the classroom and provide feedback. Provide support to rebbeim to improve their teaching skills and help them create an optimal Torah and learning environment.
• Curriculum Development: Work with the Menahel and other staff members to develop and implement the kodesh curriculum and help students achieve academic success.
• Student and Staff Support: Provide guidance and support to rebbeim and teachers dealing with struggling students, including those with behavioral issues. Collaborate with yeshiva administration to develop strategies to help students succeed and create a positive learning environment for all students.
• Discipline and Behavior Support: Discipline students when necessary, work with students, determine appropriate disciplinary actions, and communicate with parents as needed. Collaborate with behavioral support staff on implementation and follow-through of specific student behavioral plans.
• Supervision and Substitutes: Oversee and coordinate staff supervision schedule to ensure that students are properly supervised throughout the day (i.e., lunch, recess, etc.). Assist in ensuring that classes are covered when staff members are absent.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a leadership role, preferably in an elementary school setting
• Minimum of five years of teaching experience
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
