School Background
Torah Academy stands as one of the gifts of the Bostoner Rebbe, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Horowitz, to the Boston Jewish community. At Torah Academy, education is about more than just academics. It’s passion and excitement for Yiddishkeit. It’s a love for learning and sensitivity to others. It’s a recognition of their important role as ovdei Hashem. And mostly, it’s the knowledge that they, as individuals, matter.
The school currently seeks a Menaheles to oversee its Grade 1-8 Girls’ division with 121 students and 8 Moros, beginning in September 2024.
Summary
The ideal Menaheles candidate will be a shining example of commitment to Yiddishkeit, with a passion for inspiring children in the love of Torah and Mitzvos. She will possess a strong background in chinuch, including formal training and experience, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Professional Qualifications
➢ Formal chinuch training
○ Ideally including training and/or experience with special education needs
➢ 5+ years limudei kodesh teaching experience
➢ 2+ years leadership experience

➢ Capacity to connect with children and inspire them in Yiddishkeit
○ Including judgment necessary to balance warmth and encouragement with high standards for behavior and middos, both in personal interactions and in broad school staff guidance

➢ Appreciation of the teacher supervision and guidance needs of highly experienced Moros
➢ Familiarity with curricular systems and key educational approaches in use across the frum world
