The Shoftim Curriculum is an excellent resource for both veteran and novice teachers. The curriculum guide features lesson plans with pasuk-by-pasuk translations and explanations by meforshim. All sources are footnoted for easy reference. Questions range from basic understanding to higher-order thinking, text-based questions, bekius connections, and a special Pinat Dikduk  to highlight age-appropriate dikduk skills. Ideas are suggested for teachers on practical ways to teach the material, supplemented with suggestions for creative projects. Of course, no Navi curriculum would be complete without pointing out relevant and timely lessons gleaned from the stories of the Shoftim.  Lessons on middos and leadership are a recurring theme in each perek.

The accompanying student workbook is aesthetically pleasing, with a range of assessments for student understanding. The wide variety of sections gives teachers the freedom to choose what best meets the needs of each individual student.
