Join us in launching a new Orthodox, college-preparatory high school in Cincinnati! The High School Principal serves as the instructional and administrative leader of the school, ensuring a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous environment that aligns with the school’s mission, vision, and values. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic leadership with direct involvement in daily operations, faculty support, and student engagement. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a candidate seeking to grow into a Principal role, given the small school size and mentorship from the interim Head of School, who will guide and support a successful experience. The Principal will be hired on a 3-year contract with the option to renew.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Lead the academic policies and curriculum development.
- Establish a comprehensive assessment system to monitor student progress, inform instructional practices, and ensure continuous academic improvement.
- Bring the school’s mission and vision to life through innovative classroom practices and programs, including teaching at least one class.
- Oversee schedules, calendar, state assessments, and graduation requirements.
Admissions and Student Success
- Promote the school’s mission to prospective families and partners.
- Address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs in partnership with faculty, staff, parents, and external partners.
- Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and service projects.
- Support student recruitment, admissions, and retention efforts.
Faculty and Staff Management
- Support teachers through coaching, professional development, and performance evaluation.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and mission-driven work environment.
- Interview and recommend prospective candidates to the Head of School.
Strategic Vision and Leadership
- Set ambitious yet attainable objectives to guide the school’s growth, sustainability, compliance, and accreditation.
- Be a visible and accessible leader for all community members, including faculty, students, and parents.
- Provide essential input and oversight during the school design and construction phases, ensuring that the facilities support the school’s short- and long-term goals.
Business, Finance, and Operations
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, discipline, events, and safety protocols.
- Maintain complete and accurate academic and attendance records for all students.
- Collaborate with the business manager to maintain a budget, approve necessary purchases, and allocate resources as needed.
Community Engagement and Advancement
- Serve as the primary contact for parents and guardians, fostering open communication and trust.
- Represent the school at community events and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Education, Psychology, or related field (preferred).
- Possess a strong understanding of the developmental needs of high school-aged students.
- Minimum 3–5 years of educational experience.
- Proven success working collaboratively
- Strong written and oral skills
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills
- Commitment to the mission, values, and educational philosophy of the school.
